State of the Franchise: Inside the Glenira Biscuits

With a $258 million payroll, a farm system loaded with arms, and a mandate to win now, the Biscuits remain the gold standard of the LMBL.

The view from the top is expensive. The Glenira Biscuits enter the middle of the 2040 campaign with a payroll of $258,387,559—the 13th highest in the league—but with the expectation of a team that spends double that. Owner Rocky Jensen is demanding, controlling, and obsessed with winning. And frankly, he has every right to be.

This is a franchise that has made the playoffs 12 times in 15 years. They have won three World Series titles (including back-to-back crowns in 2038 and 2039). They are not rebuilding. They are reloading.

The Big League Roster: Star Power

The current roster is built around a core of elite talent that ranks among the best in the league. According to the latest OSA scouting reports, the Biscuits boast top-tier talent at nearly every key position:

  • RF Victor “Squid” Alvarez: Ranked as the #1 Right Fielder in the entire league. Alvarez is a 5-tool menace hitting .354 with a .400 OBP. He’s a 4-time All-Star who has already accrued 43.8 career WAR. He is the engine of the offense.
  • CL Bryce Walker: The #2 Closer in the LMBL. When the 9th inning rolls around at the Biscuit Basket, the game is effectively over.
  • SP Josh Thompson: The ace of the staff and the #5 Starting Pitcher in the league. Thompson is 1-0 with a microscopic 0.83 ERA in 2040. He’s a 2-time Cy Young winner who simply does not age.
  • 2B Rick Starr: The #8 Second Baseman in the league. At 28, Starr is in his prime, hitting .263 with power (8 HR already in 2040) and playing steady defense.

Even the “aging” stars are still productive. Justin Laines, despite his injury, remains the 14th best shortstop in the game at age 37. Alex Ramos checks in as the 7th best first baseman. There are no easy outs in this lineup.

The Farm System: Arms on the Way

Usually, a dynasty depletes its farm system to sustain winning. Not Glenira. Assistant GM Nate Davis has quietly stockpiled a terrifying collection of young arms.

  • P Matt Geary (Age 19): The jewel of the system. Ranked #112 by OSA, this 19-year-old was the first-round pick in 2038. He has struggled a bit in A-ball (6.30 ERA), but his “stuff” is undeniable.
  • C Edgar Bustos (Age 17): The catcher of the future. Signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2039, Bustos is already ranked #134 and has 80-grade potential. He is the heir apparent behind the plate.
  • P Jonah Bernhard (Age 23): A 2nd round pick in 2035, he is close to the show.
  • P Jaden Adams (Age 22): Another arm to watch, pitching well in AAA Salt Lake City.

The Brain Trust

It takes a village to run a dynasty, and the Biscuits have assembled a diverse group of baseball minds.

  • Bench Coach Fernando Castillo: A conventional thinker with an “Excellent” reputation. He balances out the analytics.
  • Pitching Coach Jesus Garcia: Focused on power pitchers, which explains the team’s obsession with high-velocity arms.
  • Hitting Coach Jake Meyers: An easygoing personality who teaches power. The Biscuits don’t play small ball; they mash.
  • Scouting Director Frank Castaneda: A controlling personality who favors “High Ability” players. He isn’t looking for projects; he’s looking for ballplayers.

The Bottom Line

The window is wide open. With Alvarez in his prime, Thompson dominating on the mound, and Laines providing veteran leadership, the Biscuits are built to win their third straight title. The farm system ensures they won’t fall off a cliff anytime soon.

For the rest of the AL Allison Division, that is a terrifying thought.
