1929 – Babe Ruth hits his 500th home run against Willis Hudlin of Cleveland.

1950 – Joe DiMaggio is benched for the first time in his career amidst a 4-38 slump (.105). He was hitting .279 at the time.

1961 – Warren Spahn wins his 300th game in a 2-1 win against the Chicago Cubs.

1986 – Pete Rose, player-manager of the Cincinnati Reds went 5-5, notching his 10th career 5-hit game. This gave him the record for most 5-hit games.
